*IMPORTANT if you select a pattern or stripe fabric, that it may or may not line up with your main awning fabric. This is due to different manufacturing processes as well as the actual fabric roll width which differs slightly from roll to roll and manufacturer.

The valance is located on the front of the awning which provides additional solar protection. The fabric is the same as the main body. All the stripes and seams will line up with the main cover. You can select from several styles shown here.

The braid, which is the finished edging on the bottom edge of the valance, is also 100% acrylic and is guaranteed not to fade. The braid is stitched onto the valance.

More Info
The valance slides into a track on the front bar and measures typically 8 inches long. Any valance over 8 inches tall will add to the cost as listed.

Valence Fabric Replacement
Fix up your old or damaged awning valence fabric by replacing it with a custom valence only replacement from DIY Retractable Awnings. While our awnings are designed to withstand a certain amount of sun, rain, snow and wind, they still have their limits. Eventually, the valence may not offer the curb appeal it once did, whether because of fading and fraying over time or due to a storm accident. Even if the rest of the awning is in good shape, a hanging valence is more exposed to the elements then the rest of a retractable awning, and may have a shorter lifespan than the rest of your awning fabric.
We use Sunbrella awning material to create a valence replacement fabric kit that quickly renews the function and beauty of your existing valence. By using the finest materials from North America and Europe, our team will have your awning valence looking like new again.
A Fresh Valence for Your Gathering Space
A new valence on your awning can make all the difference. You can even create a lower hanging valence to give you more shade with this new replacement. Start by selecting the unit measurements for your valence replacement. We widths down to the quarter-inch five to 40 feet and can provide valence heights to as many as 12 inches. From there, you can select dozens of fabric colors and patterns along with an assortment of braid colors, valance types and valance heights. Hundreds of choices are available and made-to-order and assembled in the U.S.

The Best Valence Fabrics You Can Buy
Awning manufacturers long ago realized that the best awning fabric should be made from synthetic fibers so that it will resist mildew, rot, mold and fading from the sun. Manufacturers such as Gore also enhance the life of an awning cover with synthetic fiber thread named Tenera that is made to stand up to the elements and last as long as the acrylic fabric cover it holds together.
